Technip Energies, a France-based firm, is set to accelerate the energy transition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) with a decarbonisation commitment.
The National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Technip partnership will take place to see the companies collaborating on projects focused at carbon capture, as well as blue and green hydrogen related projects.
The agreement was inked by the partners at Gastech 2021, exploiting the 30-year long working relationship between the parties.
the joint venture will further explore other clean and renewable energy-related sectors such as transforming waste to energy, ammonia, biorefining and biochemistry, making use of the hike in the clean and renewable energy industry.
Arnaud Pieton, Technip Energies CEO said, “This partnership will encompass the right mix of identification capability for concrete opportunities like carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, blue/green hydrogen and ammonia.”
He added that exploring the potential in these areas, along with utilising the experience of both parties, will provide ‘holistic solutions’ to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon society.
